With one of the sexiest sounds in modern music, Cherub is just steps away from becoming a household name. “Doses and Mimosas” and “Jazzercise ‘95”, singles off two of their projects, have reached such popularity that they are bound to be played at any party worth attending, and you’ll probably make a new friend just because he/she is a die hard fan and knows all the words too. Band members Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber consistently produce electro-pop songs that incorporate their signature talk-box solos until you can’t deny their slogan genre- “music from the future”. The duo blends the perfect amount of sex and raunchiness into their lyrics and overall vibe to draw any and everyone in, even the boys. Although, I’d imagine the ladies dream that Jordan’s “Mines Yours” lyrics are about them, while the guys simply aspire to learn the charm the boys of Cherub are so blessed with.
As for their live show, it is nothing less than a party, and if you’re not prepared to be covered in sweat then get out of the front row. Jordan and Jason never put on the same set, constantly remixing and dancing their way to the final croon of the talk- box, perpetually encouraging fans to groove with them. Just watch their music videos, you’ll see for yourself that these guys know how to throw a little shindig. And if one thing is for sure about their concerts, the two absolutely love showing their adoration for the screaming fans, and are known to celebrate post- show with them, so don’t be shy- they want to know your name.
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Cherub has been on the rise in Music City for a few years now. Their first digitally released album, Man of the Hour, made waves, and the energy of their live performance spread like wildfire through the city, but every band needs that one song to send them to the far off dreamland of fame. For Cherub, that would be “Doses and Mimosas”- a party anthem that will never die. The song was re-released on their sophomore album Mom & Dad, which includes other favorites such as “Monogamy” and “Hold Me”. Since then, the band has toured on their own and with the Age of Reason tour opening for Gramatik. They have released two EPs- 100 Bottles and Antipasto, with both receiving excitement and approval from long time fans. Currently, Cherub is on their BLOW’D tour, with festival stops at Bonnaroo, Firefly, Wakarusa and Electric Forest.Check out their twitter- @CHERUBlamusica- to keep up with the goofiness and good times.
