Three Sisters Park of Chillicothe, Illinois has now become home to one of the largest grossing and most incredible festivals in all of America. About a thousand people attended the festival in 2001, the first year of the Sumer Camp magic, enjoying over 20 bands on 2 stages over the course of two days. Since then, Summer Camp Music Festival has grown to more than 15,000 attendees, hosting more than 100 bands on seven stages over three days. The festival returns May 23-25t h 2014, bigger and better than ever. Summer Camp is incredibly well known for its loving and friendly vibes, as well as an overall open hearted and welcoming feel. This festival has been around for quite some time now, so the old school family vibe is also very prominent. The best way to describe this experience would be small festival vibes, and big festival artists mixed into one perfect combination of jam, funk, soul, and passion.
Past attendees of the festival have had nothing but great things to say about scamp with each and every year that passes. Summer Camp continues to pull in some of the biggest names in music. Last year hosted artists such as Big Gigantic, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Umphrey’s McGee, Zeds Dead, and moe., with various artists performing multiple sets over the course of the weekend. A surprise set from Big Grizmatik (Big Gigantic, Griz + Gramatik) at their Red Barn late night performance was one of the most memorable parts of the festival, spreading ultimate good vibes. News of this combination has only left the masses begging for more. Annual returning artists Umphrey’s McGee and moe.‘s sets are highly anticipated., and the festival continues to expand by landing some of the hottest names in the industry. Performances such as Bassnectar, Primus, Lotus, EOTO, and Keller Williams will make for a weekend that will never be forgotten. The 2014 lineup is something out of a fantasy, and anyone who has a chance to attend this event will be in for some of the best few days of their lives.
Level 1 General Admission passes are currently on sale for $174.50, but with this incredibly low price, tickets are running out fast. Level 2 and 3 General Admission will be the next available options following the end of the Level 1 sale. With the location, vibe, and experience, it is almost impossible to say no to a ticket.
