Top 5 Shows to See in Chicago and Milwaukee - February

#5:  Cherub @ Concord Music Hall in Chicago, IL (Saturday, February 14th) 18+.

Cherub’s Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber return to Chicago for another night of sexy music and sexy people. The duo blends the perfect amount of sex and raunchiness into their lyrics, bound to force every body in the room to vibe to their perfectly orchestrated set. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, the tag team duo shot into the ears of listeners everywhere with their hit single Doses and Mimosas. Come get down to the sweet sexy sounds of Cherub Saturday, February 14th at Concord Music Hall in Chi-town!

#4: Cashmere Cat @ The Miramar Theatre in Milwaukee, WI (Saturday, February 28th) All Ages.

Behind the razor-sharp-but-soft-and-furry paws of Cashmere Cat hides Magnus August Høiberg. The 27-year old Oslo-based producer used to lurk behind the scenes of disco and house-music, previously working with labels like Kitsuné, True Panther and Ninja Tune. As Cashmere Cat, a project that is little over three years old, he embraces his true love – gritty R&B and slow jamz. Cat lovers do not want to miss this show at The Miramar Theatre in Milwaukee, WI Saturday, February 28th.

#3: The Floozies w/ Russ Liquid @ Concord Music Hall in Chicago, IL (Saturday, February 28th) 18+.

FUNK YES! The Floozies return to the windy city for another anticipated sold out show! With them they bring the funky Russ Liquid, a jazzy multi-instrumentalist who is rarely seen without a horned instrument in his mouth. He is sure to set the stage just right for the dynamic duo. Brothers Matt and Mark Hill will bring the funk to Concord Music Hall Saturday, February 28th and you won’t want to miss it.

#2: Lotus w/ Turbo Suit(formerly Cosby Sweater) @ Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI (Saturday, February 28th) All Ages.

Lotus has crafted a unique musical style outside of simple genre limitations. On a given weekend the band could be the only group with guitars at an all electronic music festival and then the next night crash a traditional rock festival with their dance heavy beats, synths and samples. Equal parts instrumental post-rock and electronic dance, the band's distinguishing feature is the ability to maintain a decidedly unique musical voice and remain current while bucking passing trends. With the sweet funk-tastic vibes of Turbo Suit opening at Turner Hall Ballroom Saturday, February 28th this is one funky show that is bound to beat the rest, you want to be at this show.

#1:  DATSIK TWO NIGHT RUN w/ Kennedy Jones @ Concord Music Hall in Chicago, IL (Friday, February 20th – Saturday February 21st) 18+

Lets hope the new renovations last, because Datsik is headed back to Concord with one goal in mind: tearing down the house. Last February a ceiling panel rattled loose causing parts of the ceiling to literally rain down on the crowd like Firepower. After the show he tweeted saying “We had fun while it lasted and I promise you we are coming back bigger and badder Chicago.”  This stop is inevitably going to be one of the best of his tour, if not his best; this man loves Chicago and he will show his love to the fans that come out for another round at Concord Music Hall. Be in Chicago Friday the 20th, and Saturday the 21st, and do NOT sleep on tickets, this show will sell out, and you will be jealous.
