There’s big news going down for Coloradan festival lovers– or pretty much festivalgoers anywhere. Colorado, the state we know and love, is renowned nationally as a mecca of music and concert culture, with its world-class venues and passionate crowds. It has surprisingly lacked a true, large-scale camping festival to compare with the rest of the nation’s biggest events- until now. Madison House Presents, best known as the organizing group behind Electric Forest, just confirmed the establishment of Colorado’s first 4-day music camping festival, a production that’s officially in the works and set to go down August 4th-7th. It will take place on a 274-acre ranch in beautiful Buena Vista, a foothill town set southwest of Denver, and is prepared to accommodate over 20,000 campers and attendees.
It will be something similar to the looks of Electric Forest, one of our favorite summer festivals in Rothbury, Michigan, which has presented huge headliners in the past ranging from Pretty Lights to Bassnectar to Fetty Wap to STS9. Jeremy Stein, president of Madison House Presents, confirmed the project to ThisSongIsSick.com, stating: “Today is the start of something very special in Colorado, and we are excited to honor the approval we have received from the Chaffee County community. Participation in the permitting process, from many voices in the community, has created a true collaboration. We aim for this festival to be a mighty source of Colorado pride. The setting is stunning, the music will be amazing, and the art will inspire. At the festival’s core, is a community seeking fun, exploration, and common ground. This is the inauguration of a magical summer celebration.” Madison House Presents, who paired up with AEG Live for the event, hasn’t released any more information on the festival besides their hope to continue its production as an annual summer event. As the booking and management representatives of artists such as Bassnectar and String Cheese Incident, we can rest assured the lineup will be nothing less than legendary. We’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks for word of lineup and any further information to start booking a trip to Buena Vista, Colorado.
