August 9th and 10th have officially been marked as the two days for the first ever Moonrise Music Festival to take place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. After coming to an abrupt close just a few weeks before the festival was supposed to take place last summer, this year’s lineup is back and better than never. With a headlining act from the renowned American producer Kaskade on Saturday night, and electronic legend Bassnectar on Sunday night, this festival is one that you most certainly aren’t going to want to miss. The organizers of this event, Steez Promo, did an excellent job ensuring that a wide spectrum of electronic music will be present, and with acts from bands such as the sensational Lotus, Sound Tribe Sector Nine (STS9), Papadosio, Zoogma and EOTO, this two day event is surely going to make for an incredible festival to say the very least. Including performances from rising electronic producers such as the highly acclaimed dubstep duo Zed’s Dead, Baltimore is in for a real treat with all the intimate acts that have already been announced on the Phase 1 lineup.

Aside from all the phenomenal producers are listed, Adventure Club, Rusko, Carnage, Bro Safari, Brillz, Clockwork and DJ Snake are just a few of the many other DJ sets that are sure to get the crowd moving. On the trance/house side of the spectrum, artists such as Sander Van Doorn, Morgan Page, and Tommy Trash are sure to bring their euphoric experiences with them, thus adding to the awesomeness of this lineup. As well as a performance by the rising teen sensation Audien, positive vibes are sure to be very prominent with all these uplifting sets in store. Not to mention, Infected Mushroom will also be doing their own DJ set, adding to the rowdiness of this already superb collection of producers. With heavy performances from artists such as Excision, Destructo, Figure, and Crizzly, the attendees of this festival will most certainly need to stay hydrated throughout all the madness that is about to go down. Even Boulder’s very own Paper Diamond will be making his way down to Baltimore, and with similar performances from people such as Gladiator, Mr. Carmack,  Keys N’ Krates, GTA, Victor Niglio, and Ookay, all the hype surrounding this event makes virtually all these sets a must see. And, for all you progressive, melodic, and deep house fans, be sure to catch sets from producers such as Sound Remedy, Tchami, and the Disco Fries at some point during the epicness. If you’re looking for some hip hop in this lineup, look no further as acts from A$AP Ferg and Waka Flocka Flame are all locked in and ready to go down. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for Lotus’s keyboardist Luke Miller as he displays his individual Dj skills under his funky side project Luke the Knife.

Overall, this festival is jam packed of talented artists and producers from top to bottom. It is pretty clear that the organizers of this festival made sure to make up for last year’s cancellation by adding a plethora of phenomenal producers to this year’s lineup. Also, as mentioned above, this is only the first part of this epic event. Phase 2 is scheduled to be released shortly, and seeing how jaw dropping the first announcement was, who knows what else is still in store. General Admission tickets are currently still on sale for $149.50 for a two day pass. This is more than a reasonable price to see all these acts, and seeing how cheap it is, passes are being sold at exceptionally fast rates. Be sure to grab yours as soon as possible, as there is no doubt this event will sell out. This is not an event you want to miss, and I am personally extremely stoked to see how this festival plays out. Brace yourselves for one crazy August weekend, as Moonrise Festival is back, bigger and better than anyone could have possibly imagined.
