Last Friday, April 3rd, The Werks played an amazing show with The Malah and Vine Street Vibes at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver. Vine Street Vibes, a psychedelic jam band based out of Denver, started the night out with a groovy set that had everyone enjoying themselves as the venue slowly started to fill up. As people trickled in, the energy in the room was slowly building in anticipation for the rest of the night.
When the second opener, The Malah, came on the room was full and the night was off to an incredible start. When they opened with “Up On This” the whole crowd was instantly engaged – people were dancing around, hooping, and embracing the smiles that could no longer be held back. The Malah is a psychedelic rock band based out of Denver, with a reputation for their organically smooth electronic groove music. Their songs are light hearted and flow with delicacy and beauty. The rhythms are catchy, and as they played their set they energized the room. Although it was sad to see their set come to an end, they set the stage for The Werks and welcomed the next act onto the stage generously.
The Werks is a jam band originating from Dayton, Ohio. They have a reputation for their improvisational jams and exploration of music across many genres. They have a humongous following across the country, and they deserve it. Cervantes was packed as the kicked off their set – everyone was excited and prepared to jam for the rest of the night. The Werks is notorious for their unparalleled ability to captivate an audience. Impressively, they played a four-hour set. They jammed throughout the evening and into the early hours of the morning. It wasn’t hard to tell how they got their amazing reputation. The members of this four person musical team are gifted with their determination and stamina. It was a night to remember, with plenty more to come.
