Rowdytown's 5th Consecutive Sell Out!

One of Colorado’s most captivating events is all set to take over the legendary Red Rocks Ampitheatre this upcoming weekend. Rowdytown 5 has continually established itself as one of the most in demand events of the entire Red Rocks season. With not one but two jam packed sets from Boulder’s own Big Gigantic topped with the scenes hottest up and coming artists, it’s no surprise Rowdytown has sold out yet again. This year features opening support from Louis the Child, Vanic, and Kill the Noise on Friday night along with sets from Kasbo, Illenium, and Marshmello on Saturday night. Now I know what you’re thinking. I assure you this epic list of talent is 100% legit. With some of the biggest names in EDM jam packed into two days of sound that you won’t soon forget, I urge you to dive deep into those Craigslist feeds if you’ve yet to capture your ticket.

Fresh off the release of their newest album “Brighter Future”, Big Gigantic is set to bring a whole new set containing some of their most energizing material to date. Straying away from their normal electro-soul roots with songs such “Got the Love” and “All of Me” Big G continually displays their ability to keep up with what’s hot in the electronic world. Tracks such as “Wide Open” present a deep house vibe similar to their well-known collab with Carnage “I’ll Be Pushin On”. Along with massive tracks such as their huge collaboration with Griz “C’Mon” and “Brighter Future”, one listen through the album leaves you itching to hear these sounds displayed over Red Rock’s breathtaking sound system.

As for those openers, I don’t think anything that I could say truly does this batch of electronic sensations the justice they deserve. You may have heard of Louis the Child from their originals “It’s Strange” or “Weekend”. Or possibly their massive remix of Ty Dolla Signs “Blasé”. Speaking of tracks with millions of plays, how about Vanic’s “Make Me Fade” or “Borderline”? Still not ringing a bell? Maybe his remix of Major Lazer’s “Be Together” will remind you of the melodic anthems Vanic pops out time and time again. Kill the Noise’s 3.7 million followers are just a slight testament to the madness that is sure to be unveiled come Friday night.

As if the list of acts above didn’t already have you on the edge of your seat, special performances from Kabso, Illenium, and Marshmello point to the $200 tickets being sold on Stubhub just for one night of music alone. Kasbo’s single “World Away” featured on Odesza’s Foreign Family collective provides a glimpse at the massive discography the 19 year old producer has amassed over the past few years. Along with his remix of Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” and collaborations such as his track “Sovereign” With Just A Gent, this set is sure to kick off the night on an incredibly euphoric note.

Followed by a set from Denver’s own Illenium, Saturday’s lineup is nothing short of perfect. His remix of the Chainsmoker’s “Don’t Let Me Down” just broke 50 million plays on Soundcloud alone along with his most recent remix of Flume’s “Say It” breaking 2 million plays in the first two weeks. His debut album “Ashes” charted as one of the top electronic albums of the year and following sold out show after sold out show, I can assure you the stands will be filled from top to bottom to watch this historic performance.

Last but definitely not least, don’t think I forgot about the Colorado Mellogang! You can expect those bucket helmets to be out in full force as Marshmello makes his return to Colorado following sold out performances at both the Bluebird and the Ogden. Tracks such as “Alone” perfectly exemplify the upbeat, emotionally charged jams this rebranded phenomenon presents time and time again. Along with some of the best DJing skills in the game, you can never be sure what Marshmello is going to drop. If one thing is for certain, you definitely don’t want to miss this set. Marshmello has been absolutely crushing the game and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Marshmello headlining Red Rocks next Fall.

As mentioned above, this show is 100% sold out. If you can snag a ticket for a reasonable price, be sure to hop on your very first chance. Scalpers are doing their best to drive up the price but at the end of the day ABGF (A Big Gigantic Family) does their best to keep Rowdytown tickets at a fair price to other family members trying to attend. Overall, this weekend is sure to be nothing short of spectacular. Here’s to one of last shows of the Red Rocks season going out with a massive bang.
