For all you friendly folk wanting to warm up your winter, Fort Collins has the remedy for you. On January 28th, Stick Figure will be making their awaited return to Colorado, preforming on their Set In Stone tour at Fort Collins finest; the Aggie Theater. Although most reggae fans would be delighted enough with solely Stick Figure, the group is brining along Fortunate Youth and Katastro to compliment the reggae bliss us fans will be receiving. If you’re familiar with these acts that will be playing downtown, you know that this Thursday night will be an evening full of smiles, low eyes, and skankin’.
Stick Figure, the headlining band of the night, will be showcasing their new album Set In Stone on this eight-state U.S. tour. This new album of theirs is widely acclaimed as one of their bests. It has tracks featuring reggae legends Slightly Stoopid, Eric Rachmany of Rebelution, and Collie Buddz. The album, just like previous Stick Figure releases, was written, produced, and recorded by Woodruff, lead guitarist and vocalist of the band. Backed by his three-man band, this performance will be one Fort Collins will not soon forget.
To get the night grooving in just the right direction are openers Fortunate Youth and Katastro. Fortunate Youth, who are no strangers to Fort Collins, are fresh off their Don’t Think Twice album tour. With singles like “Burn One” and “Pass the Herb”, FY is bound to bring the tunes we’re craving. If you were lucky enough to catch them in October at another downtown favorite, Hodi’s Half Note, you are grinning just as hard as us to catch them again at this massive event. Let us not forget though, Arizona based Katastro, who will be kicking off the night. Known for blending elements of rock, funk, blues, and hip-hop, this group will be sure to begin the night with a soulful, hazy entrance.
If you are unable to attend the January 28th show in Fort Collins, the three groups will be blazing through Denver and Colorado Springs as well. We anticipate this gem of a show to sell out, and with tickets being only $15 right now; there is no excuse to not snatching one up! See you there.
