Goldfish Takes Over Boulder

Goldfish brought their sound to Boulder for the first time Thursday, March 19th , at the Fox Theatre.    Pioneering a new wave in the ocean of house music is Dominic Peters and David Poole with Organic house music. House music has become its own monster in the EDM scene.  Countless Dj’s and endless variations of house music makes trying to be original difficult, and almost all of it is lacking a huge key musical component, instruments!

The duo from Cape Town South Africa  play live Synth keyboard, electric double bass, alto saxophone and flute over their tracks.  Pairing the upbeat house sound with live instrumentals Goldfish is able to not only keep everyone dancing but also in a state of awe at the amount of musical talent these individuals have.  Goldfish made three stops on their second tour in the U.S. Golfish played the iconic Belly Up in Aspen on March 18th , Boulder on the 19th , and Denver, at the Bluebird on the 20th .  The “Organic House” tour drew a significant crowd for their Boulder show and sold out in Denver for the second year in a row!  Bass feeds the Soul was fortunate enough to get a pre show interview with Goldfish!  When Dom was asked how he felt about just starting to touch into the American EDM scene and how people would react to their new sound, he replied, “I think America is ready for this sound. They had their sugar rush with EDM, like someone gave them coca cola for the first time and was like oh my God it’s sweet and fizzy! And then everyone discovered that there’s actually more substance to it.” Goldfish backed this by captivating the crowd all night with funky bass lines and crisp sounds of the high horns.

Goldfish is making stops for the first time at american festivals this summer so look forward to seeing them at Electric Forest, Wakarusa, Mysteryland, Kaboo, and many more.  This group is super talented and not going away, in 2009 they set a new South African Music Awards record for most nomination with eight.  The nominations including Best Duo or Group and Album of the Year, winning Best Producer and Best Dance Album.  More recently Goldfish was named "Best Pop" at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2014.  Goldfish had yet another amazing Colorado tour stop, in their interview with Bass feeds the soul both Dom and David said they look forward to coming back and it is their bucket list number one goal to play the big stage, Red Rocks!
