Colorado funk fans are heavily anticipating Chromeo’s return to the sacred Red Rocks stage this May. Grab your dancing shoes and get ready for Funk on the Rocks: Round 2!
The self-proclaimed “Funk Lordz”, met each other while attending grade school in Montreal. After years of musical experimentation together, the duo finally released their debut album in 2004, She’s In Control. The album itself did not explode, but their song “Needy Girl” became a universal hit. Following the release of their sophomore album, Fancy Footwork, the band’s fan base swelled, thanks to their catchy songs and 80’s inspired sound. Their third album, Business Casual, and their fourth (and latest) album, White Women, received high praise from both fans and critics. Chromeo has toured all over the world, and has performed at countless festivals.
Last August, Chromeo was the headliner for “Funk on the Rocks”, accompanied by Cut Copy, Flume, and Duke Dumont - an incredible lineup. All of the openers put on terrific performances, but Chromeo’s set was unbelievable. Their ability to make the 9000 audience members constantly dance was extremely admirable. There was not a dull moment that night. Based off of the amazing night had by all at Funk on the Rocks last year, this year is bound to be memorable.
The second Funk on the Rocks will be co-headlined by Chromeo and Odesza. On top of that already fantastic lineup, Classixx and Jungle will also be accompanying them, creating a perfect atmosphere for a non-stop night of dancing. The show will be happening on May 26th, so get your tickets before they sell out!
