The String Cheese Incident (SCI) is a jam band from Crested Butte and Telluride, Colorado formed in 1993. The band is composed of Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, electric guitar, and violin), Michael Travis (drums and percussion), Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar, and electric slide guitar), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, Rhodes, and accordion), and Keith Moseley (bass guitar), and, in 2006, Jason Hann (auxiliary percussion).
This band’s unique sound has elements of bluegrass, as well as rock, electronica, calypso, country, funk, jazz, Latin, progressive rock, reggae, and occasional psychedelia. Every member of the band has their own exclusive talent and creative energy that harmonizes perfectly with one another creating the perfection of SCI. On top of being talented musicians, they are incredible performers. Their live performances have changed the way I view live music and helped me grasp what a live show should really be. They never fail to give it their all and make the crowd go crazy for cheese! Red Rocks, being one of the greatest venues in the world and Colorado, being SCI’s home, promises to be one of the greatest three-night runs of all time.
In addition to two full-set shows from SCI, the band will be joined by Twiddle (7/24), Dopapod (7/25) and Nahko And Medicine For The People (7/26) to complete three nights of mind blowing music on the rocks! Mark your calendars for July 24th-26th, 2015 and get your tickets before they sell out! This show guarantees turning all the cheese heads out there into straight up fondue. Sorry for such a cheesy joke ;) hehe go cheese! http://sci.frontgatetickets.com/
