All Good Record’s future-funk duo is bringing their talent back to Boulder, Colorado for a two-night run at the historic Boulder Theater on October 23rd and 24th, 2015. Mark your calendars people, because this is a weekend you’d be bummed to miss out on. The Floozies, comprised of bro-ha-has Mark and Matt Hill out of Lawrence, Kansas, has mastered the art of fusing the 70s era funk music with today’s advanced electronic production to create nose-scrunching, panty-soaking, party music. Matt’s incredible guitar slaying combined with Mark’s uptempo drumming creates the full-effect without overcomplicating the sound.
Having played at festivals all over the country this summer, including Summer Camp, Wakarusa, Spring Awakening, Summer Set and Backwoods, The Floozies have gotten plenty of practice in to throw the most epic dance parties known to funk music. They recently had an opening set at GRiZ’s Red Rocks extravaganza, where they were met by thousands of fans busting out their best hip swings and stank-faces. At the end of the set, Matt had tears in his eyes and a smile plastered across his face, and wrote this about the experience: “Everybody always says the same stuff about playing red rocks and that's because it's true. There's nothing like it. A crazy combination of nervousness, happiness, butterflies, confidence, elation. When we got done I couldn't tell if I was going to cry or start laughing hysterically. Being able to share moments like those with friends and family really is a blessing. So thanks to grant, john, squab, muzzballs, our whole team, and especially all of you. We used to play dive bars in mountain towns in front of like five people and now we get to play red rocks and all of you take the love and energy we put in and give it right back to us. We hope you guys had as much fun as we did. And who knows, maybe we'll be back next year. Winky face.” To say the least, these two have not had their fill of the Colorado Crew and will not only be returning to Boulder, but also recently announced they have a set at North America’s largest New Year’s Eve dance party in Denver known as Decadence.
These goof balls are some of the most entertaining dudes to see live if you’re into electro funk, because their synths are so sexy, the guitar so sultry, the beats so gripping and the vibes so ecstatic. Although they are currently on tour with Boulder-natives Dom and Jeremy of Big Gigantic for their Get On Up Tour, The Floozies will be parting ways with Big G to make room for supporting acts Sunsquabi (Friday) and the Krooked Drivers (Saturday). These back-to-back shows are sure to get Boulder a good dose of rowdy. Don’t leave your dancing shoes in the closet at home, bring ‘em out and get funky fresh with The Floozies.
