Last November, Bleachers graced Denver with their presence at last. After their performance, lead singer Jack Antonoff hinted that they were planning to return to Colorado in March, but this time to Boulder.  Thankfully this proved to be true, and the band announced their plans to play the Fox Theater in Boulder on March 7th!

Bleachers was born in 2013, and their first single “I Wanna Get Better” dropped on February 18th 2014. The single was a huge hit, leaving listeners anxiously awaiting the release of their first full length album. After what seemed like an eternity of agonizing anticipation, Strange Desire finally came out on July 15th 2014. The album was everything fans had hoped for, and more. It was clear that this was a perfectly assembled group of extremely talented musicians.

Lead singer, Jack Antonoff, is also known for being the lead guitarist in the band Fun. It became clear to all that his vocal skills were equally as impressive as his musical abilities, and Bleachers gave him the platform to showcase all of his talents. With frontman Jack being so musically inclined, it is no surprise that his fellow band members are also such incredible musicians. Strange Desire exhibited how eclectic Bleachers sound is. No two songs sound exactly alike. They even have songs featuring Grimes and Yoko Ono, two very different artists. Several songs have gotten mass attention worldwide.

Shortly after the release of the album, they announced their U.S. tour, making fans nationally rejoice. They played at The Bluebird Theater in Denver, and I was lucky enough to claim a ticket for myself. Without a doubt, Bleachers put on one of the best live performances I have ever seen in my life. The band executed a flawless show, and their songs sounded just as good live as the recorded versions. I was blown away by the vocal precision exhibited by Jack, and the overall excellence of the band. I would absolutely recommend seeing Bleachers live someday.

Conveniently, Bleachers is currently on another U.S. tour, and will be in Boulder in just a couple short weeks. I am confident that they will put on another striking performance. It doesn’t get much better than Bleachers playing a show in Boulder!
