5 Non-EDM Shows to Check Out This Winter in Colorado
EDM has a strong presence in Colorado that at times seems unavoidable. If you want a break from candy kids and strobes, there are plenty of shows to choose from. We put together a small list of non-EDM shows that will be in CO in the upcoming months.
Dr. Dog | Ogden Theater | Feb 19
Their amazing new release of Live at a Flamingo Hotel sets the bar high for Dr. Dog’s upcoming show, but I have no doubt that they will blow Colorado away. The band has a thick discography to pull from, spanning almost 15 years of many albums and EP’s. This classic East Coast, Indie Rock band will put on a show you won’t want to miss.
moe. | Fox Theatre | Feb 5 | Ogden Theatre | Feb 6 & 7
If you’re located in Boulder or Denver, you’ll be able to catch at least one of moe.’s three night run in Colorado. Go to one of these shows and really listen. You’ll be amazed at the musical talent of this supergroup.
G. Love & Special Sauce | Boulder Theater | Feb 7
Blending R&B, hip-hop, and blues, G. Love & Special Sauce will bring a unique sound to Colorado. This concert will no doubt draw a great crowd for a great night.
Gov’t Mule | Feb 23 & 24 | Belly Up Aspen
So you didn’t get to see The Allman Brothers Band on their last and final tour? Not a problem, because Gov’t Mule will be in Aspen. Some fantastic musicians, including Warren Haynes, will be at the Belly Up at the end of February.
Ben Howard | Feb 7 | Fillmore Auditorium
Coming from England and touring his new album I Forget Where We Were, Ben Howard put on a powerful show at the Fillmore. Howard’s music phenomenally covers the spectrum of emotion, from melancholy to bliss.
Galactic, The New Mastersounds, Dirty Heads, and Nightmares on Wax will also be in town in the upcoming months. You won’t want to miss these shows either.
