Situated on Randall’s Island Park in NYC, Governor’s Ball will be making its return for the fifth year this July. This music festival features some of the biggest musicians from a wide variety of genres, guaranteed to please everyone in attendance. Conveniently located in NYC, Gov Ball is easily accessible to a huge group of people.
Since it’s first year in 2011, Gov Ball set a precedent of fantastic lineups. In the past we’ve seen huge names like Pretty Lights, Beck, Modest Mouse, Guns N’ Roses, Outkast, and Jack White. 2015’s lineup surely does not disappoint. In the mood for rap? Be sure to check out performances from Atmosphere and Drake. Craving some pure rock ‘n’ roll? Be on the lookout for My Morning Jacket, The Black Keys, and The War on Drugs. More of an EDM fan? Well look no further, Odesza, Deadmau5, and Flume are all set to bring their talents to NYC this July.
On top of the shows going on, there will also be a ton of interesting things going on simultaneously. Art installations will be spread throughout the festival, along with face and body painting for all attendees. There will be lawn games, photo booths, and some amazing NYC deli food provided by Miles End Deli Experience (the top rated deli in NYC!). One of the more unusual, but awesome, things going on will be the Silent Disco. Sennheiser provided a ton of high quality, wireless headphones that will be connected to a DJ set, making for a quiet environment featuring a bunch of good vibes and positive energy.
After fees and shipping costs, general admission tickets for this years Governor’s Ball start at $300. VIP tickets are $645, and Super VIP tickets are $2015. The festival will also be providing tickets for transportation from Manhattan and Brooklyn, making travel just a little bit easier. If you can’t pay all at once, they’ll help you out with a payment plan to make the experience possible.
A killer lineup with some awesome food and activities guarantee that this year’s Governor’s Ball will be one of the best music festivals on the East Coast. We’ll leave you with some great advice from the Gov Ball team, “ Be kind to one another, pace yourselves, and feel free to give a random stranger a high five!”
