Any Electric Forest Veteran could tell you that each year the crowd gets bigger and bigger. Both attendees and staff have expressed concern about overcrowding, litter and tickets selling out too quickly. With the expansion of Electric Forest to two weekends the capacity of each weekend will shrink by about 10% the capacity of E-forest 2016. Weekend 1 will be held on June 22-25 and weekend two will be held on June 29- July 2nd.
We have heard a lot of complaints about Electric Forest being split up to two weekends but the change hasn’t dampered our spirits in the least. No matter what changes to scheduling have been made we can’t help but feel excited to once again take over the forest. Year after year Electric Forest draws in one of the most friendly, considerate and entertaining crowds of any festival in the world. Just look at the Electric Forest facebook page and you will find people organizing meetups, offering to share rides and genuinely friendly to each other.
When asked what their favorite part about the crowd at Electric forest is like these veterans had this to say:
“There's literally every type of person there. Whether from out of state, country, nationality, in costume, performer, shy or easily approachable, you can find at least 1 of each kind of person in those magical woods. The ultimate place to lose yourself and find yourself in a completely different light by the end of the weekend.” - Amber Barber
“What is awesome about the crowd at Electric Forest is how so many different people become in sync with each other.” - Alissa Norris
No other festival manages to draw both EDM fans and their more laidback and groovy cousins, Jam Band lovers, together in a collision of super-friendly party people. With a lineup featuring The String Cheese Incident, Bassnectar, My Morning Jacket and Flume plenty of die-hards fans are bound to attend. We’re not sure if it’s the attitude of becoming one with nature or maybe it's simply that the crowd this festival draws is full of kind-hearted people but one thing we know for sure is that the people are what make this festival worth going too
At Electric Forest the people go out of their way to make sure everyone is safe and having good time. Not only do they care about the people but they look after the forest as well. Electric Forest attendees know that nothing is more sacred than preserving the forest for the animals, the planet and future generations to enjoy. Insomniac and Madison House productions make sure to allow the attendees participate in a variety of ways to give back to the community including Electricology which rewards people for recycling and helping clean up the camp sites (https://www.electricforestfestival.com/participate/plug-in/electricology/).
We can’t wait to see what kind of friends we make. Whether it’s at the campground where you will find people setting up hammock forts amongst the trees, your tent neighbor chugging beer from a funnel or while inside the venue at one of the forests many attractions. Unfortunately weekend 1 has already sold out you still have a chance to join in the celebration by attending weekend 2. We know we won’t be missing Electric Forest this year, will you?
