Celebrating Diversity in Music: ARISE features multiple genres and styles of music

After a long, brisk wait, summer in Colorado has finally arrived. The lush green is starting to take over the dry brown, bathing suits are beginning to replace the thick pants, and the much anticipated river days are finally upon us.  With all off these heavenly additions to our never ending awesomeness here in Colorado, the anticipation and eagerness for something is still there. That something is ARISE Music Festival.

Taking place August 5-7 2016, in the beautiful hills right outside of Loveland, Colorado’s best music festival is set to return for a weekend full of out-of-this-world enlightenment and fun. Although this is only the fourth Arise, it is no surprise that Coloradoans, and folks from all over the planet, are as eager as ever for this years journey.  I mean, how could you not be excited? Not only is there some of the best yoga, workshops, art, vendors, scenery, and activities a festival could offer, but there is one insanely diverse lineup you’d be a fool to miss out on.

To start off, the top two headliners on the bill are Ziggy Marley and Jurassic 5. Are you kidding me?! The equally talented son of Bob Marley for some irie reggae, and the hip-hip group J5 for some legendary rap everyone could get down too. Fortunately enough, the reggae music and hip-hop don’t stop there on this three-day camping festival. If you’re into reggae, or great music in general, some of reggae’s best will accompany Z Marley. California’s own Fortunate Youth, who just dropped their new album Don’t Think Twice, along with The Expanders and rising reggae musician Mike Love. Joining Jurassic 5 in the hip-hop genre is Del the Funky Homosapien.

If you thought it stopped at just reggae and hip-hip, you were very, very wrong. Other bands coming out to spend a summer night & day in the beautiful Front Range of Colorado will be Papadosio, Elephant Revival, Hardworking Americans, The New Mastersounds, The Travelin’ McCourys, Rising Appalachia, The Bluegrass Generals, Jeff Austin Band, Everyday Orchestra, Euforquestra, and many, many more. These bands all have extremely unique sounds, which is only fitting for ARISE, and the mesh of them all playing the same weekend is overwhelming to say the least.

One part of the festival we are really excited for is the electronic music set to hit the stage. With a headliner like Papadosio, it’s easy to tell that those who love getting groovy under the night sky to some heavy bass and intricate beats will be extremely satisfied. Another electronic headliner playing is Wildlight, harmonic, soulful duo of The Polish Ambassador & Ayla Nereo (who is also on the lineup as a solo act). Other electronic acts include Phutureprimitive, Dirtwire – Feat. Members of Beats Antique & Hamsa Lila, Govinda, Diamond Saints, Bass Physics, Clozee, Insightful, DYNOHUNTER, and more.

With such an electrifyingly diverse lineup, you should definitely make your way to Sunset Ranch with all of us beautiful creatures enjoying the most anticipated weekend of the summer. See you there!
