It’s no doubt that a large-scale movement is happening around the globe. It is driven by a growing consciousness of love. Many people have joined this movement and become the world’s most peaceful warriors, fighting for equality, balance, and harmony in all places - especially the places that need it most. There are so many of these peaceful warriors, in fact, that gatherings of the sort have sprung up across the country. This August 7th-9th, Loveland, Colorado will host one of these conscious gatherings with great music, inspiring workshops, heart-opening yoga, and visionary art. Sunrise Ranch will transform into a place full of love and friendship to harness the power of positivity and create an experience that will remain in people’s memories forever.
As a festival dedicated to consciousness, naturally the musicians encompass this paradigm in their music as well. ARISE will feature headliners such as The Polish Ambassador, Emancipator Ensemble, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Stick Figure, and many, many more. There are over one hundred artists looking forward to this festival, with six stages to showcase their true talents. Covering genres from reggae to psychedelic funk and classic rock to electronic, ARISE Festival captures the true essence of every individual’s music tastes. New this year is Area 51, a music spot dedicated as an electronic zone and sponsored by The Untz.com. It will feature an incredible visual aesthetic as well as a sound system only fit for those heavy womps and analog synths. Although, the music is just one of the many draws of ARISE.
A common quality of peaceful warriors is the desire to learn more and better one’s self. To accommodate this, ARISE has created several villages. The Wisdom Village, accurately named, is an area of the fest that is home to meditations, workshops, and yoga. Buildings within the Wisdom Village include Native American tipis, a Men’s Wisdom Lodge and a Woman’s Wisdom Lodge, and a Jade Frog Tea Temple. This magical place is determined to promote the tolerance and exploration of many global cultures, and to do so, ARISE has placed prayer offerings, ceremonies, and rituals in the schedule each day after 1pm. Between 10am and 1pm, the Wisdom Village is subject to an “open door” policy for attendees to freely come and explore an array of cultures and people.
A Yoga Zone is also a part of this effort of betterment, with yoga workshops for everyone, every day. These workshops focus on aspects such as balance, healing the heart, Tibetan singing bowls, aromatherapy, energy, jivamukti and other types of traditional yoga. In addition to yogic workshops, there is an amazing array of workshops geared towards any attendee wishing to get involved with something more. Announced so far, workshops topics include African drumming, song, priestess power, metaphysics and consciousness, fire poi, hooping, natural remedies and herbs, belly dance, and self guidance. All of these guides aim to bring out the very best in everyone, and also help them discover their inner selves - for example, scattered across the festival grounds lay tons of awe-inspiring installations by creative minds. Art zones are designated places to let the creativity flow just as other themed camps are places for healing, play, or just plain fun. In past years, one could wander around the festival grounds and find themselves among Native American tipis, healing gong baths, or a camp of floating lotus tents. Coming back again this year, the Solutions Village provides a place for attendees to become educated on how they can be a part of the movements for change, with a focus on ecological and social issues facing the world today.
For family-friendly fun, the Children’s Village is available to the youngsters and provides exciting activities for any age, including musical instruments, dance, theater, and more. Within the Children’s Village lie five domes, each with a different ARISE principle guiding the activities scheduled: Activate your inner genius by transforming trash into art in the up-cycled art dome, Reconnect with nature by honoring wisdom traditions by making dream catchers and spirit animals, Interact with your inner curiosity in the play space, Synchronize with others through the infinite imagination of the costume area, and Empower thoughtful action in the sustainability and green solutions dome. So don’t feel like you need to hire a babysitter for the weekend, bring the kiddos along for the fun!
ARISE Music Festival is many things, but if there’s one adjective that describes it all, that would be “transformational”. Come be a part of the overwhelming positivity and all-encompassing love, and make memories that will continue to keep you (and others around you!) inspired for years to come. I could go on and on and on about how incredible ARISE Music Festival is going to be, but truly, it’s up to you to purchase the ticket. And hey, just an FYI, ARISE plants one tree with every ticket sold. Prepare to leave ARISE having the confidence to make a difference in yourself as well as in the world.
